I chuckle to myself when I think about how far I have come on my yoga journey. Less than 5 years ago, when I attended one of my first yoga classes, I was miserable!  At the time, all I wanted to do and was doing required running hard and lifting weights hard — pretty much anything intense.  Yoga seemed like a waste of time!  How could I be still for one precious hour?  I didn’t want to be mentally provoked, as one of my early yoga teachers said.  I specifically remember being in that class and being provoked!

Fast forward to today and I simply can’t live without my yoga.  Yes, I still run, strength train and I enjoy intense workouts.  However, I also balance out my body, mind and spirit and spirit with yoga.  On a physical level yoga has helped me gain strength, flexibility and balance.  The health of my spine has improved, my energy has increased and my hip pain is virtually gone!  On a mental level, yoga enables me to feel more grounded in my life.  Spiritually through yoga I have learned to speak my voice and trust my instincts.  Yoga has given me these much unexpected gifts for which I am grateful.  Life is so extraordinary in this way. One day we can’t imagine doing something, and then we turn around to notice it was one of the best things that ever happened to us.  My personal yoga practice has become a catalyst for physical healing, psychological growth, and spiritual awakening.
Because of this profound experience with yoga, I decided I simply had to share this gift with others and become a Yoga teacher.
