Meditation for Healing?

I get this question often. Is meditation healing?

The short answer is no. The longer answer is yes.
How so?

A little background first.

I had the privilege of attending a 7 day retreat with Dr. Joe Dispenza last week.

It's difficult to put into the words the incredible transformative experience that took place.

The days were long, about 14-16 hours/day. We spent about 5-8 hours/day in meditation exploring the quantum field and learning how to bring the experience we want to us.

The rest of the time was spent learning, sharing, and allowing space for healing to happen.

As someone who has been meditating for 26 years, I was humbled by what I learned as I explored other meditation "techniques" and longer meditation periods.

I came away with many golden nuggets and an answer to a question many people ask: Is meditation healing?

The short answer is no. The longer answer is yes.

How so?

When we fully commit to daily meditation, we change on all levels: body, mind, and spirit.

As we change, we heal.

What changes? EVERYTHING.

Our body, our mind, our emotional state, our life, ALL OF IT.

Meditation is a powerful catalyst to help bring awareness to our life.

Awareness is the first step to change.

We become aware of what we no longer want, and replace it with what we want instead.

We learn how to focus our attention, energy, thoughts, feelings, and actions on the outcome we desire.

When we change our thoughts, feelings, and actions, we change our life.
When we change our life, we heal.

Is meditation healing?

I would say yes, when we use meditation to show us where we want to go (thoughts/feelings), and then we go for it (action)!

No awareness, no change, no healing.

Note: You do not have to meditate 5 hours/day. I have noticed my sweet spot is about one hour/day. I used to meditate 20 minutes/day.

After this experience, 20 minutes is no longer long enough.  The alarm clock goes off earlier now,  and I have more energy, focus, and clarity than ever.
